Urgent Update: Major Attack on Ukraine’s Energy Network

Date Published

On April 11, 2024, russia’s attack obliterated Ukraine’s largest power plant in the Kyiv region, the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant. Power generation for the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions is now dramatically reduced and cannot be restored in the near future.

Such strategic attacks across Ukraine (near Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and elsewhere) seek to break the will of the Ukrainian people by depriving them of electricity and heating. Kharkiv has been hit particularly hard but continues to endure.

Nova Ukraine remains steadfast in its commitment to support and rebuild. With over $86 million in aid delivered, our efforts continue across multiple critical areas to mitigate the impacts of these catastrophic events.
